What Your Skin Looks Like
Structure of the skin. Normal skin is composed of three layers: the epidermis (outermost layer), the dermis (middle layer), and hypodermis (innermost layer). The layered nature of the skin results from a vertical arrangement of the different types of cells.

We will briefly discuss the hypodermis and dermis before moving on to the outer epidermis.
